The Taye Manufacturing Company, a family owned business, was established in 1975 to make drums and hardware for other musical instrument manufacturers behind the scenes. By 1999, TayeÒ Drums had become a key supplier to the music industry. We felt strongly that it was time to develop our own line of drums. The Taye Drums philosophy is that good drums need not cost a fortune and should be widely accessible.

Taye Drums set out to create instruments like no other—so much so that Taye Drums can claim over twenty proprietary features. The Taye Classic Design™ name is synonymous with a team focused on such innovations as our ingenious SideLatch™ Snare Release, SlideTrack™ tom holder, PocketHinge™ bracket, studded gasket for mounting lugs and brackets, and the Articulated Claw Hook. Taye Drums can truthfully claim that we do everything in-house. From drum shell making to chroming to crafting those wonderful mirror lacquer finishes. We even fabricate our own drumheads.
